By taking shelter at the lotus feet of Guru, the jéva successfully revives his otherwise lost pure knowledge. He can engage himself in the service of his worshipable Supreme Lord, who is the only object to be served eternally. If one renders loving devotional service under the benevolent guidance of a bona fide Guru, he will succeed in attaining supreme transcendental pleasure and bliss. Therefore it is absolutely essential to take shelter at the lotus feet of  Guru.
